What is the exact purpose of this template? If it is only for shell commands, I think, "Command" (or "CMD") is a more descriptive name. Also "Command" is more common in other wikis (unofficial Gentoo Wiki, Arch Wiki). Astaecker 14:02, 26 September 2011

That was the intended purpose. I think the name fits, and don't see a pressing need to use the same name as any other site. At any rate, how would you name the ShellRoot and Generic variants? --A3li 14:14, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
For me, an editor wants to highlight a command, so he searches for a command template. A shell is too generic. If you name the templates by environment, the file template should be named "editor".
ShellRoot can be "RCommand"
I don't see the purpose of ShellGeneric, as every output is the output of an command. We are duplicating the command call in the caption bar of ShellGeneric. We should better extend the Shell template to display also the command output (as a output parameter).
