Resources

The youbroketheinternet overlay (short: ybti) is a collaborative maintained Gentoo developer overlay. Some of us are involved with SecuShare, but we try out all sorts of XKEYSCORE-resistant technology.

Access URLs

You may find our Gentoo overlay accessible at one of the following URLs:

  • git://cheettyiapsyciew.onion/youbroketheinternet-overlay (primary)
  • https://gnunet.org/git/youbroketheinternet-overlay.git
  • git://gnunet.org/youbroketheinternet-overlay.git

We are working on making our developer overlay accessible via GNUnet

Using the overlay

eselect repository

Add the overlay:

root #eselect repository enable youbroketheinternet
root #emerge --sync youbroketheinternet

layman

Update the layman overlay list:

root #layman -L

Add the youbroketheinternet overlay:

root #layman -a youbroketheinternet

manual

When you use layman, first git clone from one of the URLs, and then add this to the /etc/portage/repos.conf/youbroketheinternet.conf file:

FILE /etc/portage/repos.conf/youbroketheinternet.conf
[youbroketheinternet]
priority = 50
location = /var/lib/layman/youbroketheinternet
sync-type = git
auto-sync = Yes

If you use layman, you might want to use 'layman-type = git' instead.

Depending on if you used tor (you can torify git) for the .onion or just used the clearnet overlay you can adjust the auto-sync value. Adjust other values to your needs and situation.
