Suppressing autolinking of URL

Might want to use <nowiki> in the TTYs section to suppress the autolinking of the URL (and accompanying icon) in the 'links' example. To be specific:

user $links https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Handbook:Parts/Installation/Media

instead of

Good suggestion, applied. Thanks! --SwifT (talk) 16:34, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

Note for the official future media for UEFI mode

Talk status
This discussion is done.

About note on no-UEFI mode for minimal CD, I have known that SystemRescueCD is based on Gentoo and it has UEFI support. UEFI is going to become a new standard, so I think that LiveDVD or SystemRescueCD are more important at the moment. Is it a good idea to clarify this point in the official manual? (just with a note) --Suricata (talk) 14:19, 28 August 2017 (UTC)

The first UEFI specification was published in 2007 and was previously based on EFI. Downloading the LiveDVD takes a long time and it seems that SystemRescueCD has some drawbacks concerning UEFI (sometimes the OS does not boot). I think the best thing is to explain how to boot the computer (or how to use the interface?). I know that this knowledge is special (high level) but I feel that some features are under exploited. --Feng (talk) 10:22, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
The minimal installation CD becomes less useful because it does not allow to start modern computers. Nonetheless, it is probably easier to develop than SystemRescueCD. Anyway, it seems that Gentoo has made his choice: "Readers looking to make their system UEFI bootable must download the latest Hybrid ISO (LiveDVD).". --Feng (talk) 10:22, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
The minimal now supports UEFI booting so this is an obsolete discussion. --Grknight (talk) 14:37, 7 November 2018 (UTC)
