Atom is an open-source, graphical text editor developed by GitHub. It is called the, "Hackable text editor for the 21st Century" by its developers. It is built on the Electron framework, written in CSS, CoffeeScript, JavaScript and Less and is packaged by GitHub for 64-bit Debian and Red Hat Linux, macOS and Windows.

Emerge
It is important to note that the official app-editors/atom can only be installed on AMD64 Gentoo Linux and is incompatible with x86 and other architectures. Install app-editors/atom with:
